Backup and restore

This instruction will guide you through manual backup and restore Pipeson Data Manager personal settings.

When you perform a system backup of your PC, the personal settings in Pipeson Data Manager will be backed up automatically.

Backup

  1. Show hidden items, View tab > Check ‘Hidden items’.
  2. Go to C:\Users(Your Username)\AppData\Local\Pipeson\DataManager\2.0.0.
  3. Copy all the files from that folder (except datamanager.lic file – PC dependent) to your backup location.
Restore

  1. Show hidden items, View tab > Check ‘Hidden items’.
  2. Go to C:\Users(Your Username)\AppData\Local\Pipeson\DataManager\2.0.0.
  3. Copy and replace the files from your backup location.

Please note: Do not copy the datamanager.lic file. Contact Pipeson when you would like to re-activate your license on the new PC.

Access data

This instruction will guide you through how to access data and update data from a Pipe Data Flow System in Pipeson Data Manager.

Access data in Pipeson Data Manager

  1. Click on Datasets.
  2. Click on Online System.
  3. Check datasets (projects) that should be updated from Online system (data access system).
  4. Click on Update button.
  5. Selected datasets will be uploaded to the database.

Data access plugins

This is instruction will guide you through the setup process for accessing data from a Pipe Data Flow System (online data access system) in Pipeson Data Manager.

Pipe Data Flow Systems use encrypted user plugins (key files). The plugins are distributed by owners of Pipe Data Flow Systems. If your company have an internal Pipe Data Flow System, please contact your “System owner”.

To set up Pipeson Data Manager for data access

  1. You need to have your encrypted plugin file (*.ppx or, *.ppf).
  2. Start Pipeson Data Manager.
  3. Go to Main Menu > Data Sources > Online Systems > Online System Manager.
  4. Click on ‘Add’ button.
  5. Browse to the plugin file.
  6. Enter the plugin name, this name will be displayed in Pipeson Data Manager.
  7. Pipeson Data Manager is now ready to access data.

Upgrade

Upgrade

Please follow these steps when upgrading your Pipeson Data Manager on your PC.

  1. Download the new version using a link provided by Pipeson.
  2. Uninstall your current version of Pipeson Data Manager.
  3. Install the new version
Additional information

All Pipeson Data Manager settings and saved information will be available in the new version.
