Analyzer – Proxy server

This instruction will guide you through the set up of Pipeson Analyzer when using a proxy server in your computer network.

What is a proxy server?

 Setup Proxy

  1. Start Analyzer
  2. Go to the Main Menu and select Settings > Proxy
  3. Check the option ‘Use system proxy settings’
  4. Click on ‘Apply’ and then on Test
  5. If test is successful click ‘OK’ – You  are now ready
  6. In case test is not successful (connection failed)
  7. Check option ‘Manual proxy configuration’
  8. Type in the required fields and click on Apply and then on Test
  9. If test is successful click ‘OK’
  10. In case test is not successful (connection failed), please contact your IT for support

Use proxy server (HTTP)
This check box indicates if a proxy server is used to filter the network traffic on the corporate network.

Address
This is the network address of the proxy server, could be an IP – address (e.g. 192.168.0.100) or a server name (e.g. OurProxyServer). Your IT department can provide the correct information.

Port
The port that the communication will take place between your PC and the proxy server (usually port 8080 is used). Your IT department can provide the correct information.

User name
The username used to authenticate you at the proxy server (usually your windows login name).

Password
The password used to authenticate you at the proxy server (usually your windows login password).

Domain
The network domain used to authenticate you at the proxy server (usually your windows login domain). Note, if no domain is used, this field should be left blank.

Test Button
Used to test the current settings.
